grandbellknight: (we are not afraid)

Seems like doomsday's come early this year...

Characters: Those searching for the life support terminals
Location: All around Luministi!
Time: During the quick-time event
Summary: Time to find those terminals, reset them (all at the same time, mind!) and fix this! ... But is it really going to be that easy?
Warnings: None (yet?)

Six terminals, six parties looking for them, and time is running out. ... Along with any breathable air.

Following Proctor's instructions (and unfortunately limited memory), everyone looking for the important life support terminals would have to begin searching. Though they don't know exactly where each one is hidden, they knew they'll be in locations that were important to those originally in charge of the town. So, with a few locations in mind, at least they aren't blindly wandering the town. The idea is to split up, to try to get to the terminals simultaneously.

Still, they'd have to act fast. As time passes, it gets just that much harder to breathe, after all.

((OoC: Feel free to use this post to log out your adventures in terminal-resetting. ♥ Prose or [action brackets], probably doesn't matter. Go, go, go!))

[just as soon as she's found out what she needs to from Croix, Sophie starts straight for the malt shop. she remembers seeing Verita there quite often during their original time in the city--perhaps even more often than she saw her in the town square--and Sophie reasons that it's easier to hide technology in a building than outdoors]

[when she arrives, she makes her way to the counter and behind it and begins opening all the drawers and cupboards in an attempt to find--well, anything that she can find. there's no time to lose, so while she's trying to check carefully, she's also being very brisk about it]

[There is nothing that is out of place behind the counter or within any of its drawers, but elsewhere in the room, something lets out a small "pop" and click, as if something has moved.]

[Sophie frowns, hearing that sound. she turns and makes her way out from behind the counter, surveying the room for anything out of place. from her place near the counter, her view of the booths and walls is best]

[nothing seems off about the walls; each piece of tchotchke on the walls are still in place. but something does seem off about the booths...]

[she moves closer to the booths, looking first at the tabletops and the seats, then leaning down to get a better look underneath. something seems a bit off, but she can't quite place what it is...]

[Sophie's instincts are right on. When she looks underneath, she'll see that one of the booths looks like it's moved away from the wall--and a soft glow from beyond the crack can be seen a second later.]

[she spots that glow and grabs the booth near it, trying to push it farther from the wall to reveal more]

[after a few good pushes, the booth gives! And reveals...

[A terminal! The terminal is a foot wide and looks like it can be removed from its holder. The screen shows a field of stars, but soon turns black with simple white letters that read:]

To access this terminal, your choice is a simple one: A or B.

Answer correctly, and you may proceed.

Answer incorrectly, and you may not live long enough to regret it.

[Then two buttons appear onscreen, one with a bright A on it and a B on the other.]

[Sophie stares at the strange screen for a moment, frowning. but after an attempt to contact the Proctor fails to yield any useful information, she sighs and considers it for a moment more]

Perhaps...since they mentioned correct first...

[and she reaches out and presses the button marked "A"]

[The chosen button flashes for a few seconds, then the whole screen goes black as though it were thinking...

It's black for a good minute before another screen appears--one that Proctor
would recognize:]

To reset Life Support systems, press when ready.

[Then a single button appears, waiting to be pressed. It seems the terminal won't tell you if you chose right or wrong. But once the button is ready to be pressed, do so.]

[ooc: To make things easier, we can assume Sophie has waited to press it when the others have found their terminals.]

[Sophie does wait to hear from everyone else that the six terminals have been found. she stays in the Malt Shop, though, afraid that the terminal will disappear if she turns her back for even a moment. and finally, when it's time, she presses the button]
