Now that she mentioned it, it was kind of strange that despite a good chunk of the population here technically being aliens, they could all understand each other. How convenient was it that at least two of the 'new residents' were practically neighbors? Well, if something like a dimensional jump was going to happen, it was going to happen in or around Tokyo. That's how these things always seemed to work. "Whoever or whatever it was that brought us here must like that area! I can't really blame them."
Being surrounded by technically impossible things made it a lot easier to deal with suddenly being thrown into an alternate universe murder mystery. The effect was enhanced significantly by the fact that even by Ikebukuro's standards Walker was crazier than a rat in a coffee can. For someone without these advantages it must have been pretty great to run into someone from the same place, speaking the same language. But for Walker, it was just kind of an odd coincidence.
Anyway, "A language barrier would probably be horrible for this kind of plot! To me it sounds like we're all speaking Japanese. It might be fun in a slice-of-life series, but for this one I'm glad someone thought ahead."
Walker likewise started fiddling with his CAT, starting to match the items on it with the map symbols. That map really didn't do justice to the, er, diversity of the place. At least everything was absurdly mismatched enough that it would be memorable. From there he fidgeted around to try to get a good look at the places that Fuu was referring to.
"So... we're going to an American Western, then Industrial Europe, then by the Moon Crystal Palace."
