[Open]
Characters: Heiji and [open]
Location: Luministi Greens West, near B11
Time: Opening of Season 3
Summary: Heiji reacts to his new surroundings by running around and yelling at people, because that's how he rolls
Warnings: None
For a little while, Luministi Greens West experienced a sort of quiet peace. And then Hattori Heiji woke up.
After registering that yes, he was awake, and that yes, he was in some unfamiliar house with no real explanation save for that delivered via vidscreen, he charged out the front door and into the complex at large, the largely forgotten gift basket clutched in one hand.
"If this is some kinda joke, I ain't laughing!" he shouted. Time to find a pay phone or something, and call 110. What was this, some kind of set? Whoever'd made it put a lot of effort into it, all right, but why'd they just dump him in the house without even bothering to tie him up?

But, the Seer wants to experiment with some more interaction and so this is why when Heiji is charging out, Terezi deliberately makes it so he walks right into her. Especially with how quickly she seems to come out of nowhere.
"Rude! Don't you know to watch where you're going?"
no subject
Then he blinked. "What's with that getup? Cosplay?"
no subject
The young troll already notes his response is at least somewhat better than the other "residents" she's encountered in person here. Terezi then ends up givomg Heiji a shark-wide grin when he asks about her appearance.
"What get up? I was born this way! It's nice to meet another actual living human face to face though.
You smell like a type who likes to seek out justice. Am I wrong?"
no subject
Well, whoever she was, she was clearly into the act. He settled back a little on his feet, hooking a thumb back at himself. "Guess you could say that. Hattori Heiji, at your service!"
no subject
She points dramatically with a wink and a grin. "Makes sense, doesn't it? We just need evidence and clues to point us in the right direction!"
no subject
Well, he was just going to reach over and try and ruffle her hair, then. "Hey, that's pretty cool. Before we go out and punish evildoers, though, I think we better figure out what's goin' on. My cell phone got swiped and I can't call out on this brick they replaced it with."
Yeah, stupid communicator device. He jammed it back into one of his pockets. "This sure is an elaborate setup, though. I thought someone was pranking me when I woke up."
no subject
This means people have been brought here before and made to return at least twice.
Anyway, the resident also mentioned that they had been "put on TV" and made to "experience weird things" because the regular townsfolk here enjoyed it. I am assuming he means tortured and forcibly done as a public display for all to see in the name of some twisted enjoyment.
Apparently we're in a place that's "made to look like a town" and there's a abandoned research lab on the other side. Which probably means this is some kind of weird experiment that's going on."

Terezi's explanation didn't make much sense to Heiji; he held up a hand (the clean one). "Hold your horses, kid. Who's this Resarci guy, and why's he goin' around kidnapping people? If someone's offed him, the murderer needs to be caught."
no subject
At his question, she merely shrugs, and says, "Dead or not, I don't have an idea who he is. If by some miracle he happened to be alive, then that should be remedied as soon as possible! Kidnapping people three times and subjecting them to constant public torture should be an offense punishable by death.
I wouldn't bother chasing after the killer of a criminal, unless for a very good reason!
Either way, it'e clear, from the information I've managed to gather from the residents, this stuff is likely to start up again.
But the thing is, we will have to make an example out of criminals like this, or someone else will pick it up."
no subject
The key word being 'if'. Anyway, a dead perp was nothing but a stain on the record of a good detective.

However, a slight raise of brow on her part becomes obvious as she considers the words "let them go" that had fallen from the male's lips. So she then asks, "Do you even know what kind of torture this guy has probably subjected many people to? Let's assume he already has a body count over twenty, are you going to be on board of 'letting him free to go' then?"
To Terezi, this was completely confounding-- sure she knew the human race was less destructive and harsh than hers but hearing how light they could be on criminals still didn't exactly do well with her.
no subject
"Anyway, hypothetically speaking, if some guy really was guilty of offing twenty people, chances are he'd get the death penalty. No real point in letting someone go after they're already dead."
no subject
Then she nods, and asks, "So I'm assuming you're from Earth, where the system of justice is innocent before proven guilty instead of guilty before proven innocent?
As a Detective, do you participate in any interrogations that have you try any extreme or violent methods to extract information?"

Seeya!"
