Seems like doomsday's come early this year...

Characters: Those searching for the life support terminals
Location: All around Luministi!
Time: During the quick-time event
Summary: Time to find those terminals, reset them (all at the same time, mind!) and fix this! ... But is it really going to be that easy?
Warnings: None (yet?)

Six terminals, six parties looking for them, and time is running out. ... Along with any breathable air.

Following Proctor's instructions (and unfortunately limited memory), everyone looking for the important life support terminals would have to begin searching. Though they don't know exactly where each one is hidden, they knew they'll be in locations that were important to those originally in charge of the town. So, with a few locations in mind, at least they aren't blindly wandering the town. The idea is to split up, to try to get to the terminals simultaneously.

Still, they'd have to act fast. As time passes, it gets just that much harder to breathe, after all.

((OoC: Feel free to use this post to log out your adventures in terminal-resetting. ♥ Prose or [action brackets], probably doesn't matter. Go, go, go!))

Hawk's voice causes him to jump, but he quickly regains his composure and offers a small wave in response.

"No, not long."

He kicks aimlessly at one of the chairs.

"Just been digging around out here for anything at all, although I kinda doubt it'd be in plain sight. ... Although it'd really be nice if it was."

Sadly, neither Willis nor Hawk will find anything out of the ordinary out around the White Rabbit. Nothing seems out of place.

Hawk nods, frowning a little. "It'd be a lot simpler," he agrees, "though that's probably why it isn't."

He looks the area over, just in case, and then looks back at Willis. "Let's try inside."

"Got it."

Willis steps inside, giving a quick survey of the area before shrugging.

"Why can't they just put a sign that says 'important switch here'? It'd make our lives a lot easier."

He looks back and forth at various parts of the room, considering, before stepping behind the bar and checking under the counter.

Alas, such signs would be too easy, but fortunately, Willis is looking in just the right spot. The moment he steps behind the bar, there's a metallic "squeak" as one of the taps twists at an odd angle.

What will you do? Will you twist it? Or will you just chock it up to coincidence?

Well, that's certainly weird and makes him jump again! But he's not about to write anything off as coincidence, so he tries twisting it.

When he twists the tap, a section of the bar top slides forward to expose a terminal! It is a foot wide and looks like it can be removed from its holder. But the screen starts to glow white, then changes to show a field of stars. But that soon turns black with when simple white letters appear that read:

"To access this terminal, your choice is a simple one: A or B.

"Answer correctly, and you may proceed.

"Answer incorrectly, and you may not live long enough to regret it.
"

Then two buttons appear onscreen, one with a bright A on it and a B on the other. Both wait patiently for a decision to be made.

Hawk comes over from the other side of the room to take a look, frowning at the screen. "A or B? …was that meant to be a hint?" He taps his fingers against the counter, thinking.

"…If what it showed is a clue, then… A seems like the better option." He spread out one hand. "That seems more like life, right?"

"Yeah, A sounds... yeah."

Willis bites his lip for a moment as he looks between the two buttons. Really, he's not a fan of either button. A choice dictating whether you may or may not live? He's not a fan. At all.

"Well, here goes nothing."

Button A, you are getting pressed.

The chosen button flashes for a few seconds, then the whole screen goes black as though it were thinking...

It's black for a good minute before another screen appears that reads:

"To reset Life Support systems, press when ready."

Then a single button appears, waiting to be pressed. It seems the terminal won't say whether the choice was right or wrong. But once the button is ready to be pressed, it will work without fail.

[ooc: To make things easier, we can assume Willis and Hawk waited for the others to find their terminals before they pressed it.]

And that would be Willis about to take a deep breath of relief, and then remembering about the air problem, stopping himself short, and nearly choking on it. Alright, they've got this. Nothing exploded, or jumped out to strangle them, or anything equally horrific.

Just another button to press - and Willis is considerably more okay with pressing buttons when it doesn't feel like impending doom.

"... That went better than I thought it would."
